Indian Spices


Indian spices spans across more than 7000 years. Known worldwide for the spectacular and beautiful Taj Mahal, India not only boasts fabulous architecture but also an exquisite cuisine. Indian foods make her own position in world. .For their basic difference from other countries food type.  Indian spices are famous for their flavor and taste.  There are many types and color of spices is available in India as well as in whole world. Early years, the Indian spices were traded to Rome and China. These spices are also considered essential in the culinary art all over the world.. India produces 75 out of the 109 types of spices listed with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Indian spice grow overall Indian sub continent. Which means India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and so on. There are several herbs and spices which become popular all over the world. States like Kerala, Punjab, Gujarat, Manipur, Mizoram and Uttar Pradesh are famous for their hub for growing spices.

Depending upon the parts from which the spices are made they can be divided into following types:
•    Bark type spices
•    Flower type spices
•    Fruits type spices
•    Leave type spices
•    Miscellaneous spices
•    Pepper type spices
•    Root type spices
•    Seed type spices
Or Indian spices can be divided into following types too:
•    Seeds
•    Leaves
•    Flowers And Fruits
•    Roots
•    Bark

Most of Indian spices are rich in medical value, so are also helpful for our body. There are several herbs and spices used in Indian dishes, with a few reaching common use and becoming the most popular. Indian spices are excellent appetizers & digestives. Spices have “anti-oxidant properties “,“antibiotic activities”. “Preservative properties”, “anti-microbial” are used in foods like pickles and chutneys.

You can buy these from your market near to you, Taste it and make your own fusion recipe. Or you can also try traditional Indian food; by this you will understand actual flavors of those spices.
